The Rules

What is Kellera?

It would be more appropriate to say "Why is Kellera", but that sort of question leads to endless philosophical debate, and this is the internet. We don't do that here...

Rules for happiness

Jan 20, 2008

Everyone, everything has rules. Some of the rules are simple; Harm None. Others are much more complex; Know thyself. These rules are not for everyone, but as you are in this space, they will be the rules for being here.

The first rule is that there is no truth. Or perhaps, there are many truths. For each interaction, there is an independant truth for every participant. Observers even get their own truth. Occasionally, people will assume that their truth is shared... It might be, or that could simply be due to a lack of imagination or communication on the parts of the people who make this assumption. If anyone tries to tell you that they have the "real truth" you might want to back away slowly. The only real truth is the one you find on your own.

The second rule is that power is an illusion. People have fallen back on the tired old excuse that they had no choice but to do what a person in power told them to, but the reality is that they either had no other choices they liked as well, or they failed to see their choices. This is not an uncommon failing; seeing choices is hard work. A lot of times we will fail.

If nothing else, you have the choice to leave.

The third rule is that if you have a question, you should ask it. If you don't know how to ask your question, stumble through it. No one will provide you with answers to anything important until you learn to ask the right questions. One learns to ask the right questions by asking a lot of the wrong ones. This is acceptable and expected.
